Active adventures.

Took some time to experiment by combining some experiences for family groups as the summer season finishes up. We have had several family groups engage us via the contact form seeking fast paced, exciting and interactive experiences so we put our heads together to come up with a full afternoon/evening experience.

This is how it went....

The Paragon first, after all, this is our home base.

Next stop....Mt Owen 4x4 adventure.

Frenchmans Cap with a little April snow
Frenchmans Cap viewed from Mt Owen

Down from Mt Owen and through Queenstown to the gold bearing streams. Some nice colour was panned which made this activity take much longer than planned but hey, being immersed in this forest environment, we're not at all hurried.

Panning Gold in Tasmania's Wilderness

This girl found some good colour

Alluvial Gold panned during the Lost Mines adventure

After this great activity we enjoy a BBQ dinner in the wilderness.

Time to go wildlife spotting and checkout some abandoned mines!

The evening is finished off with a nightcap in the forest before heading back to Queenstown.

Great day out

Our family of 5 had a great day out with Anthony. The whole family had a ball out in his 4wd exploring the local mountains, towns and timber mill, followed by a barbecue at sunset and then onto a bit of wildlife spotting, glowworms and an abandoned gold mine at night. Anthony was extremely knowledgeable and the kids really enjoyed listening to his facts and stories about the local area as did we. I can not recommend Roam Wild high enough, it really made our West Coast experience.

His knowledge and passion for the history of the forest and mining is really special and his engaging style really made our time very special. Our 10 year old daughter really loved hearing all his stories and was fascinated by the whole tour. Great to spend time with someone so dedicated and committed to the region and the tours that are provided. A lovely touch to have a cuppa and cake in the mine! If your in the area this is a must do tour, you will enjoy every moment. Finishing off at the Paragon a Theatre was a real treat! Lovely restoration.
